Microchip
A tiny computerized chip the size of a grain of rice that is inserted under the skin of the animal. Through computers, the name address and phone number fo the guardian can be placed in the chip. If the animal gets lost, shelters and veterinarians have special machines called scanners that they use to read the microchip.
