ID tag
The identification tags that contains name, phone number or address, that you put on animals in case they get lost

Microchip
A tiny computerized chip the size of a grain of rice that is inserted under the skin of the animal. Through computers, the name address and phone number fo the guardian can be placed in the chip. If the animal gets lost, shelters and veterinarians have special machines called scanners that they use to read the microchip.
Migration
Moving from one location to another in different seasons
Native plants
Plants that originally come from where they are currently growing. They have not been brought from another country or region.
Naturalist
A person who knows about and studies nature and animals
Neglect
To not pay attention to, or to not care about
Not-for-Profit
A group that does work to help the community, not to make money
Organization
A group or charity
Orphaned
A young person or animal whose parents are dead or lost
PAWS
Progressive Animal Welfare Society

Puppymill
A dirty, factory-type place where dogs are bred so that people can make money from selling the puppies
Spayed & neutered
A safe surgey done on animals so they cannot have babies. Sometimes called 'fixed' or 'altered'

A store that sells things, usually second-hand items and gives the money to charity
