Ms. McDonald’s fifth grade class from Emily Dickinson School in Redmond, Washington celebrated Valentine’s Day this year by showing they care about the animals at PAWS.
The idea was hatched by two students, Madeleine and Shelby. These two inspirational girls wanted to “make a difference” and help animals in need. They took time to educate the twenty four students in their class about what PAWS does and rallied the class to bring in donations; the class responded enthusiastically! With help from family and friends in the community, all of the students took time to collect blankets, food, toys, and beds for the animals at PAWS. They also added a personal touch and spent time in class making dog treats. The dogs, and even a couple of cats, enjoyed the peanut butter heart- shaped cookies, and vegetable bagel biscuits. After all, even our four-legged friends deserve a special treat on Valentine’s Day!
Thank you Madeleine and Shelby for making sure PAWS was full with a bit of extra love for the homeless animals this last Valentine's Day. Great team work!
