The Panther Press Staff gives animals a voice
There are many ways to help animals in need. Students on the Panther Press Staff, Kirkland Junior High’s newspaper, have been using their voice to help animals by raising awareness of issues they face. Their last edition had two animal articles, “Recently Featured Pets at PAWS Animal Shelter” and “The Dangers of Product Testing on Animals.”
These students have helped animals everywhere by lending their voice - and words - to educate people about the issues of Companion animal homelessness and Animal Testing.
Here is what the authors had to say when they were invited to be on the PAWS Kids Website:
- “I feel it is a great honor to be on the PAWS kids’ website as a hero. I decided to write about animals because I absolutely adore animals. I also wish to Volunteer at PAWS when I am old enough. Every time I go to PAWS, I run to see all of the animals, so I thought it would be a good idea to write an article about animals at PAWS. Thanks for the great honor.” Kim Philio, author of PAWS article
- “First, I just want to say thank you. This really means a lot to me, because I’ve wanted to be a Veterinarian my whole life. I love animals, and try to inform people about the dangers of animal Cruelty whenever I get the chance. This whole opportunity has really meant a lot to me. I’m really happy that PAWS could recognize my love for helping animals. This summer I was interested in working at PAWS, so this is a little ironic. Thank you once again. “ Neah Harris, co-author of editorial against product testing
- “It is such an honor to be featured on your website. Thank you so much for recognizing our article. I love animals so much and I always have. I like to do anything I can to help them. This summer I want to volunteer at a Humane Society or similar Organization. It is very important to me that people are aware of animal cruelty. Animals are living creatures and they do not deserve to be treated the way they sometimes are. I really love animals and I just hope that I can make a difference. Thank you again!” Caitlin Sogn, co-author of editorial against product testing
