About Pets

Companion animals are also called pets. These animals are part of our family and live in our homes with us. That’s why they are sometimes called our best friends! The most common companion animals are dogs and cats. They rely on their human caretakers for food, water, attention and care.

Companion animals need:

  • A safe place to walk, run and play
  • Lots of exercise
  • Clean water to drink
  • Healthy food to eat
  • A comfortable place to rest
  • Shelter from bad weather
  • Regular veterinary check-ups and care when they are sick
  • Love and attention from their human family
  • Regular grooming
Check out the rest of the pets section to learn more about these special animals.
